Work in Progress - From Your Snapshot to the Final Painting

The following pictures show how Susanne creates the final artwork from an original snapshot. This artistic process takes a lot of time. Susanne uses the software Photoshop, working with a device called "tablet" which can be used like a sketching pad.
We provide 5 proofs for you to choose from. Only after you have decided which one you'd like to order you'll fill in an order form and send us your payment.

Step 1: Original photo of a beautiful Abessinian cat.

Step 2: Lots of digital painting in Photoshop create structure & colour and abstraction of the
original photo.

Step 3: The final artwork. Susanne added more painting & smudging, a colourful abstract background and an interesting frame to the portrait.

Step 1: The customer sent us several pictures of their dog & cat as well as the photographic portrait (right).

Victoria and Albert

Step 2: They asked Susanne to make a collage of Victoria & Albert's portrait by replacing the original heads with those of cat & dog.

Step 3: The final artwork. Susanne added a more inspiring background, improved colour and contrast of the costumes and adapted the cat's direction of eyes. This artwork needed a lot of blending and smudging technique.

Jack Russell

Step 1: A very cute photo of a Jack Russell Terrier.

Step 2: Composition of four identical portraits. They are sharpened, contrast is hightened and details are reduced. Each portrait gets a get different colouring.
